Slovenian companies can reduce energy consumption by up to 15%, even those considered the most energy efficient.
As Gregor Kustec, CEO of ENEKOM, points out, the possibilities for optimizing energy use have changed significantly in the last year. Advanced technologies, digitalization, and thorough energy audits today enable measures that were previously not economical or feasible.
Rising energy prices have prompted companies to rethink their energy use and look for new opportunities for savings. According to Gregor Kustec, the view on energy use in companies has changed significantly in the last year.
“Opportunities for more efficient energy use are now being sought even where they were previously unrecognized or could not be exploited due to the low profitability of the projects,” emphasizes Kustec.
Data shows that even the most energy-efficient companies can improve efficiency by around 15% within five to seven years, and in individual public facilities and buildings, consumption could be reduced by as much as 50% or more.
The main opportunities for optimization come from new technologies and the upgrading of energy infrastructure. These include heat pumps, cooling and ventilation systems, modern electric motor drives with frequency regulation, process automation, and digitalization and energy information systems (ENIS), which enable accurate monitoring and management of energy use.
Kustec emphasizes that the first step is a comprehensive energy audit, with which the company accurately identifies hidden losses and opportunities: “An analytical review often reveals details that we otherwise don’t see, but which represent an opportunity for savings.”
“Upgrading the energy management system is a continuous task. Due to the topicality of the field, the management of processes related to energy use is developing extremely quickly. It is necessary to know, follow and upgrade the best available techniques for energy use and energy management.” Gregor Kustec, CEO of ENEKOM.
