As part of the integral LIFE IP CARE4CLIMATE project, led by the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, a three-day targeted training was conducted at the “Jožef Stefan” Institute – Center for Energy Efficiency for key stakeholders in the field of energy renovation of buildings.
Among the lecturers was also ENEKOM, where Gregor Kustec presented an example of excellent practice in monitoring energy consumption in more demanding facilities – in nursing homes.

The targeted training was intended to acquire practical knowledge and experience for the implementation of comprehensive energy renovation projects of buildings, with special emphasis on condition analyses, energy management and planning effective measures to reduce energy consumption.

Through practical examples, participants learned about various methods for:

  • assessing the energy efficiency of the building stock,
  • identification of key energy consumers,
  • planning comprehensive renovation measures,
  • and the use of modern tools for monitoring and analyzing energy consumption.

The participation of ENEKOM was focused on presenting concrete experiences from practice.
Gregor Kustec, the company’s director, gave a lecture entitled “Monitoring energy use in more demanding facilities – an example of excellent practice from Slovenian nursing homes”.
The lecture highlighted the importance of constant energy monitoring and measurements, which are key to ensuring the efficiency and reliability of energy systems in larger public buildings.

“For successful energy renovation, not only technical implementation is sufficient, but above all understanding energy consumption data and its correct interpretation. Only in this way can we achieve truly long-term effects – both financial and environmental,” emphasized Gregor Kustec, CEO of ENEKOM, during the training.
